U16 Hurling Championship 2B
13 July 2018
Venue: Na Piarsaigh
Na Piarsaigh 4-11 V 2-13 Cappamore
Due to injuries and holidays Cappamore started without five from our regular team. Some of our extended panel stepped up and did themselves proud in their absence.
Na Piarsaigh started well with early goals which gave Na Piarsaigh a score of 3-6 to 0-6 at half time.
Cappamore responded in the second half with accurate free taking from the Hurley of Liam O’Donnell and great pressure from PJ Hogan at centre field.
Cappamore looked the better team in the second half and only for time running out would have surely come out on top.
Thanks to team manager Conor O’Malley for match report.

U14 Hurling Championship
Cappamore 2-6 V 1-6 Knockainey
Cappamore got off to a fine start and aided by a strong breeze lead at half time by 2-4 to 3 points. With a much sterner test in the second half, Cappamore were pushed all the way by a Knockainey side that wouldn’t lie down. However with some stout defending and determined hurling from the likes of Donnacha Ryan L and Donnacha Hogan, the boys ran winners by a goal on the night.

Cúl Camp 2018
Well done to all 116 kids who took part in Cúl Camp Cappamore 2018.
A lot of hard work was carried out during the week by our coaches and volunteers. Thanks to all concerned.

U16 Football Championship Division 2A

Monday 2 July 2018

Cappamore 6-15 V 3-6 Belville Gaels

On monday our U16s travelled to Quaid park to play Belville Gaels in championship football. The game started very even but cappamore scored 1-1 to 0-0 before Belville found form and went a point up. By half time however Cappamore recovered to go six points up. In the second half our boys found top gear and good scores from Ciaran Kennedy, Liam O Donnell , Sean Whelan and Adam Meehan gave us a convincing win.

U12 football play off

Wednesday 5 July 2018
Cappamore 1-8 V Galtee Gaels 2-6
Venue: Kilbehenney
On Thursday evening we made the trip to Kilbehenney to take on Galtee Gaels. In perfect conditions for football both sides exchanged points early on. After a well worked move starting in the full back line involving several players, Chris Smith slotted the ball calmly into the bottom corner for the opening goal. Two excellent points from Colum Hanley left us 2 points up at half time.
Jack Daly made a couple of great saves early in the second half but Galtee Gaels applied more pressure and scored their second goal to take the lead for the first time in the game. Cappamore rallied again and upped the tempo and work rate all over the field. Cian O’Connor worked tirelessly and won several frees. Behind by 1 point in injury time, Cappamore pressed hard for a score and a free landed on the edge of the square resulting in a goal mouth scramble and the ball being cleared off the line. As the final whistle sounded our lads were left disappointed but should be very proud of the effort and commitment showed by all. We now look forward to our semi final at the end of the month.

U12 Hurling play off
28 June 2018
Venue. Cappamore
Cappamore 3-7 V 4-6 Knockainey

Great credit due to both sides for an entertaining game played in very warm conditions.Trailing by 3 points at half time, our half back line of Ben Ryan, Michael Berkery and Cillian o Dwyer battled hard and allowed us to play more in the opposition half. Fine solo goals by Jack o Donnell and a second from Evan Coleman followed by a great point by Jake Slattery left the game in the balance heading for full time. Both sides exchanged further points but the goal Cappamore tried hard for just wouldn’t come.We now look forward to our semi final in a couple of weeks.
