Cappamore GAA and Camogie Results and Reports

Primary Schools East Football Final

On a cold and wet Monday 11th November Scoil Chaitríona travelled to the LIT Gaelic Grounds to play Cloverfield NS in the 7 a-side Cumann na mBunscol East football final. Scoil Chaitríona started well taking the lead with an early goal from Jake Slattery. With strong defensive performances by Taylor Coleman and Shane Mockett, Cloverfield found it hard to get an opportunity to score. Scoil Chaitríona stretched their lead with superb goals from Terri Trebecki and a further three goals from Jake Slattery who had the golden touch throughout the match. Chelsey McKenna and Nicole O’ Connor displayed some great footballing skills and put in countless tackles to ensure Scoil Chaitríona had maximum possession.
In the second half the captain Nikolas Kaluha ensured Scoil Chaitríona’s lead with an outstanding performance in goals keeping Cloverfield’s score tally low. Substitutes Donnacha Gill, Grace Dillon and Syed Khamis helped ensure victory on the day for Scoil Chaitríona. Nikolas Kaluha joyfully accepted the cup from Pa Ryan, East Cumann na mBunscol Chairperson. Well done to all who helped Scoil Chaitríona to this memorable victory of an impressive scoreline of 8-3 to 2-3.
Team on the day; Nikolas Kaluha(C), Shane Mockett, Taylor Coleman, Nicole O’ Connor, Jake Slattery (6-2), Chelsey McKenna (0-1), Terri Trebecki (1-0), substitutes: Donnacha Gill for T. Trebecki, Grace Dillon for S. Mockett & Syed Khamis (1-0) for C. McKenna.
